Principal's Message

Principal's message:
I am honored to be serving as the principal for Valley Ranch Elementary. I have lived in the East Montgomery County area all of my life, and it is definitely an exciting time to be a part of New Caney. The new developments and expansions are bringing businesses and new residents to our area. I am excited about the new growth and meeting future VRE Wranglers.
New Caney ISD is offering many opportunities to help your child be successful. Every student in grades 3-5 will have a Chromebook issued to them to be used at school. Students in grades PK-2 will utilize tablets and grade level Chromebooks. I also invite you to become aware of our dual language program and the various clubs that are open to students at Valley Ranch.
Valley Ranch will continue to use TAP to improve instruction and student achievement. Peace Builders and CHAMPS will also continue as we constantly seek the goal of creating a safe, positive learning environment.
I am looking forward to meeting you and getting to know your children. I welcome an opportunity to schedule a time for us to sit down and talk about your student.
It's a great day to be a Wrangler!

  • Statement Regarding Open Carry of Handguns by License Holders
On January 1, 2016, legislation enacted by the 84th Texas Legislature permitting the open carry of properly holstered handguns by licensed individuals becomes effective. This legislation does not affect the possession of prohibited weapons, including, but not limited to, handguns by license holders, as set forth in federal and state law regarding school district property. In addition to the general prohibition of firearms on school district property by the Federal Gun-Free Schools Act, state law prohibits the possession of prohibited weapons “on the physical premises of a school or educational institution, any grounds or building in which an activity sponsored by a school or educational institution is being conducted, or a passenger transportation vehicle of a school or educational institution.” Tex. Penal Code § 46.03(a)(1). Even individuals licensed to carry a handgun are subject to this prohibition. Additionally, license holders could be subject to separate criminal offenses for criminal trespass when proper notification is posted, and/or for carrying a handgun, concealed or openly carried in a holster, on a premises where a high school sporting event or interscholastic event is taking place. Tex. Penal Code §§ 30.06, 30.07, 46.035(f). Thank you for your anticipated compliance. The District will continue to enforce these prohibitions in order to promote the safety and security of all NCISD students and staff.
