How many years of experience do you have in law enforcement?
I have a total of 12 years in law enforcement including one year of experience with NCISD Police Department.  Before coming to New Caney, I served 11 years with the Cleveland Police Department where I was the night shift patrol sergeant.

Why did you choose this career?
I wanted to help others. My father is retired from the Houston Police Department and my brother is also an officer with NCISD.

What training in law enforcement do you have?
K9 Handler, Fatality Reconstruction, Supervisor Certification, Field Training Officer, Field Training Supervisor, Narcotics Search Warrant, Narcotic Specialized Training, Court Orders

What is your background?
I graduated from Humble High School and spent four years of active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Please share a humorous story you’ve had in your job.
One night a group of kids were sitting in the back of a pick-up with a baseball bat at 1 a.m. in the Walmart parking lot.  I exited my patrol car to see what was going on.  The kids immediately told me to get back in my car.  Being an “officer,” I began to yell at the kids and told them to exit from the pick-up.  The kids replied, “You’re crazy! Get back in your car.”  I quickly learned the reason the kids were in the back of the truck.  There was a huge aggressive coyote that was running around in the parking lot.  I immediately ran back to my patrol car

What are your future plans?
I want to continue with law enforcement and help others.
