PHS students compete at TSA Regional Competition

PHS students compete at TSA Regional Competition
 
PHS TSA Students March 21, 2017 | Academically Prepared | Porter High School students took 83 projects to the Technology Student Association (TSA) Regional Competition held March 9 - 10 at the CyFair ISD Telge Ag Exhibit Center. 
 
Out of the 83 projects, 73 are advancing to 2017 Texas TSA State Competition in April. Congratulations to all the students who competed in this event. 
 
Results are as follows:
  • Hannah Taylor competed in Photography and was awarded 13 first place, 5 second place, 3 fourth place, and 1 5th place.
  • Jada Fink competed in Photography and was awarded 5 first place, 4 second place, and 1 fifth place.
  • Ayleen Gonzalez competed in Photography and was awarded 2 first place, 5 second place, 3 third place, 1 fourth place, and 1 fifth place.
  • David Phavorachit competed in 2 competitions and was awarded first place ribbon for creating a bamboo pen/pencil set and first place for creating a wooden pencil. 
  • Alex Castro competed in Extemporaneous Speech and was awarded 3rd place.
  • James Grahm competed in Electrical Kit and Logic Circuits and was awarded first place in both categories. 
  • Matt Gibson competed in Pen/Pencil set and was awarded second place. He competed in the Pencil category and was awarded third place. He competed in the Acrylic Pen/Pencil Set category and was awarded first place. 
  • Sarena Knox came competed in Iron Works Board and was awarded forth place. She was awarded first place for her Sketching by Hand project and third place for a picture frame.
  • Charlie Burns came ih first for her T-shirt design.
