New Caney HS Choir competes at Solo and Ensemble competition


 

February 6, 2017 | Interpersonal and Collaborative Skills | The New Caney High School Choir recently competed at the Region 33 UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest. The group had a very successful weekend as 41 students performed in solo competition.

The choir won 26 First Division medals and 14 students will advance to Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest to be held in Austin in May.


There were 14 students in Class One that earned First Division “Superior” medals and are advancing to the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest in Austin. The students are Leah Bellamy, Caitlin Braun, Molle Dockens, Shelbye Doyen, Billy Elliott, Maria Espinoza, Hannah Gothard, Jennifer Maldonado, Vanessa Orozco, Logan Palomo, Joselyn Rodriguez, Edgar Solis, Randy Torres, and Aylin Verde.


Students Savanna Elliott and Sierra Landis earned “Good” ratings in Class One.

 

The students in Class Two that earned “Excellent” ratings are Steven Beristain, Juan Cantu, Tenecia Gaines, Abigail Garcia, Melanie Guzman, McKayla Johnson, Savanna Landis, Jasmine Mendez, Lisa Morgan, Miguel Penaloza, and Giselle Rivera.


Students Diana Montelongo and Demaris Salce earned “Excellent” ratings in Class Three.


Several students in Class Three earned First Division “Superior” medals. They included Alberto Aguilar, Destiny Duncan, Felicia Garcia, Maria Hernandez,  Ilse Marin, and Katy Rios.


Six students in Class Two earned First Division “Superior” medals. They were Sandra Cardenas, Kevin Fonseca, Ke’ Kera Galbreath, Adelaid King, Miyna Mendoza, and Chancey Penrod.
