New Caney HS Building Trades and Architecture students compete at state

May 3, 20016 | Thinking Innovatively | The Building Trades and Architecture program students from New Caney High School recently competed in the Technology Students Association State Finals in Waco, Texas.

In the Architecture contest, Sam Padgett garnered 6th place for her “Tiny House” design and 3D model. MacKenzie Cooley and Zoey Elrod placed 3rd in their categories highlighted by their hand-made 3D models. Luis Albarran took home 2nd place with his hand-crafted 3D two-story home design.

The Building Trades representatives did extremely well also. Chris Kallaher placed 6th in the state with his “rustic farmhouse coffee table.” Claire Frazier placed 3rd, showing her glossy “red oak two-toned step stool.” Manuel Almanza brought home silver, finishing 2nd with his “Lone Star cedar cowboy cooler.” Jason Alley got the gold by placing 1st in the state of Texas for his restored “cast iron and red oak bench.”

Congratulations to the Building Trades and Architecture students for their hard work and attention to detail in creating their wonderful projects.
