Kings Manor students participate in Mars Rover Competition

KME Rocks Mars Rover Competition Feb. 4, 2016 | Thinking Innovatively | Thirty four students from Kings Manor Elementary competed in the 14th annual Mars Rover Celebration and Competition at the University of Houston on Saturday, Jan. 30.

The Kings Manor teams competed against over 100 teams from across Texas. The students presented skits and showed off Mars Rover models they'd built.  The models reflect a specific science mission that would be done on Mars' surface.  Four of the KME teams placed, taking home one first place trophy, one third place trophy and two fifth place trophies.   Mars Rover Mission Coach was KME fifth grade science teacher, Bess Stewart.
