PHS Student advances to State TAFE Student of the Year Competition

 

Sarah Reece Jan. 21, 2016 | Responsible Citizens | Sarah Reece, a Porter High School student, has advanced to be a finalist in the Texas Association of Future Educators Student of the Year Competition.
 

The Texas Association of Future Educators or TAFE (pronounced "taffy") is a co-curricular statewide non-profit student organization created to allow students an opportunity to explore the teaching profession. TAFE is sponsored by the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals and is governed by a board of directors comprised of teachers, students and principals.

 

Currently, Reece holds the offices of local chapter TAFE President, Region 6 President and State Vice President. At the Student of the Year Competition, Reece will sit before a panel of judges for an opportunity to win a $1,000 scholarship.
