Our Texas Living History Museum was a great success! The staff, parents and students learned about many famous Texans! Thanks fourth grade students and teachers!!
In an effort to help Sorters Mill Elementary earn the distinction of a "No Place for Hate," we had a "Block Out Meanness" event. All students and staff were asked to wear black clothing and sunglasses to school on April 27, 2017. The students and staff participated in this....our version of the Mannequin Challenge.
The GT students took a field trip to ShowBiz Theaters in Kingwood to see the movie "Born in China." They learned about giant pandas, snow leopards, and golden snub-nosed monkeys in their natural habitat of China.
SME is very proud of Reigan Smith! Her watercolor entitled "Gold in the Water" will be displayed at the NCISD Administration Building!
Mrs. Clifton demonstrated our archery equipment today at the NCISD Education Foundation luncheon!
The first grade classes did an awesome job on their performance of "Barnyard Moosical"
On April 24th, a breakfast was held in the SME library to honor our special volunteers. Approximately, 40 of our PAWsome volunteers were able to attend.
SME Choir members (Jade, Kaitlyn, Madison, Hailey, Erica, and Marianna) enjoyed performing "The Star-Spangled Banner ", with the NCISD Elementary Combined Choir, at the Astros ballgame last Friday night.
These students represented SME in NCISD's UIL competition! Sorters Mill won second place overall!! Grrrrreat job Tigers!

Students who brought in contributions for Jump Rope for Heart got to help tape Mrs. Hanks to the wall with duct tape. Students received one piece of tape for each prize level they reached.
On March 2nd, birthday of Dr. Seuss, we had some very special guests read aloud their favorite books.

Math4Texas showcases the Math TEKS by grade level with tips, examples, digital tools, and videos to help parents understand the math concepts and skills that their children are learning.
