safety patrol
Welcome Back!

Safety Patrol:  Starts the very first day of school, August 24th.  Students who were on the patrol last year will automatically return to the team.  We need you back!!!  Looking forward to working with you again.

Hours of attendance:   6:45 a.m. until 7:25 a.m.

Sponsored by:  Dr. Mary Lou Ford

Co-Sponsored by:  Mrs. Dawn Everton

Recruitment:  Students in grades 4 and 5 will be given a permission slip to join the Safety Patrol on the very first day of school.

Selection:  Students are selected on a first come, first served basis.  This means that the student must bring the signed permission slip to only me, Dr. Ford, first thing in the morning on Wednesday, September 3rd.  It is not known at this time as to the number of students needed. Once all who are needed are selected, any remaining students will be placed on a waiting list.

Requirements:  Students on the Safety Patrol team must maintain a 70 or above grade point average.  The students must maintain good behavior.  If they receive a discipline note, they will be suspended for one week.  If they receive a second discipline note, they will be permanently suspended.

Attendance:  It is extremely important that a Safety Patrol student attends duty everyday and on time.  This is a very important job to help keep all students safe.  If a patrol member is to be absent or late, please send a note so they can be excused.  An extreme number of absences without a note will result in suspension.  If they participate in another club, such as Choir or Jump Rope Team, they will be excused on the days they have practice.

Safety Patrol of the Month:  This award will be given to one boy and one girl patrol member.  It is based on a point system where students earn points by their attendance, being on time, receiving good notes from staff members, etc.

Safety Patrol of the Year:  Only one student receives this award at the end of the year.  The student with the most accumulated points will receive this very distinguished award.
