My name is Stephanie Santo and I am the Bens Branch Elementary School Nurse. I am committed to providing professional medical care to all students, in order to promote a safe and healthy environment that fosters learning. In doing so, each school campus is staffed with a full time nurse. School health services include: injury and disease prevention, health education, referral and management of acute and chronic health conditions, care for students with special health care needs, immunization compliance, promotion of routine health care, annual screenings, case management and providing community health resources.
I grew up in Porter and graduated from New Caney High School. I graduated college from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston with a Bachelor's in Nursing. I worked at Methodist Hospital in Houston for 6 years before deciding to give school nursing a try, and I have been a school nurse for 11 years now.
My husband is a middle school math teacher, and I have one child, a daughter, who attends Bens Branch Elementary. In my free time I enjoy traveling, taking walks, going to museums, crocheting, photography, and reading.
I look forward to working with all of the students this year, and hope you have a wonderful school year.
