Welcome to Sparta!Dr. Slaydon

What a great place to learn! I am an instructional leader at PHS and my passion is helping students and teachers reach success. I have been with New Caney ISD for 17 years.  My background includes working with special programs with an emphasis in curriculum and instruction.  My favorite thing about PHS is the multitude of educational opportunities available to our students.  We strive daily to ensure our campus culture conveys to students that learning is a life long journey!

Education, then, beyond all other devices of human origin, is the great equalizer of the conditions of man, - the balance-wheel of the social machinery

Dean of Instruction: Loree MunroMunro

I am entering my 27th year in public education.  Prior to entering administration, I taught at the middle and high school levels in music, and spent 10 years as a school counselor. While my years of service may qualify for “veteran” status, I am as excited as a newcomer about the opportunities for growth, and challenges yet to be conquered on the path to excellence!  Porter High School is a great place to strive for and achieve excellence, however we as individuals define that. It is an honor to work with the amazing faculty, staff, students, and community of this campus!

Aim high…we are not here to achieve inconsequential things!
