What is The Eddie Eagle Gunsafe Program? 
The Eddie Eagle Gunsafe Program teaches children in Pre-K through third grade four important steps to take if they find a gun. These steps are presented by Officer Daniel Soto II the program's mascot, Eddie Eagle, in an easy-to-remember format consisting of the following simple rules: 1.) STOP 2.) Don't Touch 3.) Leave the Area 4.) Tell an Adult

The New Caney I.S.D. Police Department has participated in the Eddie Eagle Gunsafe Program in our elementary schools since 2001. In 2009 the department entered and won a contest for an "official" Eddie Eagle mascot, hosted by the NRA.
