In all mathematics courses, the content is taught as a way of
understanding mathematics and how it connects to other areas such as
science, social studies, and language arts as well as to applications of
mathematics utilized in the real world. Concepts are developed through
concrete, pictorial, numerical and graphical representations to
accommodate the varied learning styles of students and provide windows
of opportunity for all students to become basic-skills-competent,
technologically-literate problem solvers.
